Former Hampton City CouncilmanRandyGillilandand his mother are dead after an apparent murder-suicide. Around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a man contacted emergency services and said he had shot his mother.
Randall“Randy”Gilliland, 64, who served on the Hampton City Council for eight years — from 2002 to 2010 — was found dead, said Hampton Police Division spokesman Shaun Stalnaker.Gillilandalso served as vice mayor between 2006 and 2008.
