Back in 2006-07, according to Statistics Canada, across all Canadian universities the average inflation-adjustedcostofone year's undergraduate tuition was $17,363.

Without scholarships or financial aid, it cancostupward of $50,000 to attend an in-statepublicuniversity for four years, and that is before factoring in room and board and other expenses.

For apublicin-state school, thatcostwas $10,500, that's an annual increase of 0.8% for in-state students and about 1% for out-of-state.

Across 1,800publiccollegesand universities, the average full-pricecostofattendance clocked in about $17,300 per year. Factoring in students' grants and scholarships, it fell to a net averagecost$10,200.
