For apublicin-state school, thatcostwas $10,500, that's an annual increase of 0.8% for in-state students and about 1% for out-of-state.

Across 1,800publiccollegesand universities, the average full-pricecostofattendance clocked in about $17,300 per year. Factoring in students' grants and scholarships, it fell to a net averagecost$10,200.
